Film & Video Screenings Below is a list of film & video screenings that took place at the Mansion Theater in Baltimore, Maryland between March of 1993 and May of 1998. The list is not entirely accurate. Notes were not kept for the first year of screenings, so that part of the list is based on what was listed on the flyers that promoted the screenings. In other cases, notes were lost for screenings that happenned, so the date is listed but not the films that were shown, or else just the films on the flyers are listed. In most cases, the screening format used is listed after each film. Screenings usually happenned at least once a month, with an occasional break in programing for various reasons. Many of the films listed were part of The H.O.M.E. Group's Monthly Independent Open Film & Video Screening and were brought to the Mansion Theater by the filmmaker who made them. (On some occasions, 16mm prints or videotapes of rare or already licensed films were shown without proper permission.) With the exception of MicroCineFest '97, there was never an admission charge to the screenings. Instead, an optional donation of no more than $2 was asked for in a can at the door. The money was used to maintain a mailing list in order to keep people informed about the screenings. These screenings were set up by Skizz Cyzyk who also served as projectionist (Craig Smith also served as co-projectionist for the first year). If you're a filmmaker who showed something at the Mansion Theater and it does not appear on this list, please email to let us know, and give your name, title of your film, and the approximate date it was shown so that this list can be made more accurate. If you have any of the mailers that don't appear below, please let us know how we can get them, or a scan of them, to make this page more complete.
